Johnessco Rodriguez<\/strong>\u00a0was\u00a0born in Mexico in 1979,\u00a0\u00a0is the\u00a0President of\u00a0OPUS Eventi\u00a0and always eats three passions: music, travel and the ARTS<\/strong>. Johnessco<\/strong> is a entrepreneur renowned for his capacity to create large scale events that attract international attention. In recent months he has been roaming the globe to gather some of the world’s best artists for the best evente in the french riviera Art Monaco.\u00a0Johnessco is the Artistic Director of Art Monaco and we interviewed him in the prestigious and luxurious Principality of Monaco.\u00a0<\/strong>This interview were completed in september. The interview was conducted by Vincenzo Chetta.<\/em><\/p>\n

Vincenzo Chetta:<\/i><\/b> \u201cArt Monaco 2016, there\u2019s a news?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

Johnessco Rodriguez:<\/b> <\/b>\u201cDear Vincenzo, there are always news with Art Monaco! This year we are keeping the same format doing the show more artistic and yet keeping our guest exclusivity intact.\u00a0 As it is usual regardless the fact that Art Monaco is a relative small show in size, we\u2019ll have an international presence at both exhibitors and collectors. Art Monaco is accomplishing its purpose to serve a platform that generates business opportunities for artists, galleries, collectors and all people involved in the industry.
\nWe are happy to keep the Principality of Monaco as the meeting point of creativity during 5 days and for the next edition in 2017 we are actually expanding and making the show bigger and better.<\/p>\n

V.C.:<\/i><\/b> \u201cWhy did you change the period for the event?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

J.R.: <\/b>\u201cAs you already know, Art Monaco still a very young event, we are celebrating only or 7th edition. Therefore we still looking for the best period that will suit the needs and schedule of everybody. Is not about just Monaco, you shall remember that we have people worldswide and some of our main contacts are always with heavy schedules. Not only that, We need to look at the calendar in the world of events and try to select the best dates available. When it comes to our exhibitors,\u00a0 as show organizers we need to be always aware about their additional expenses for example , when we were doing the show in April, we had the beginning of the main season where Monaco was FULL and flights and hotels rates are high.\u00a0 At the same time, we need to think about what the event can offer to the Principality and if we are able to find a date in a low season we actually help both sides; for instance our exhibitors will same money in their accommodations and flights and the Principality will get more qualified tourism. For now I am afraid we\u2019ll still look around for other two dates before we can establish in stone the dates.\u201d<\/p>\n

V.C.:<\/i><\/b> \u201cYou are always around the world, the art market in 2016 is alive and healthy?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

J.R.: <\/b>\u201cI\u2019m traveling all the time for different reasons, exploring other shows, buying art as I am also a collector and of course when the occasion presents I deal important pieces that need to be moved Private to Private.\u00a0 The last two years in pretty much all shows you heard the same thing from exhibitors that unfortunately do not secure a sale. \u2018\u2019The show was low, not a lot of promotion, too much people but not sales\u2019\u2019etc\u2026 The truth is yes!, we all went through difficult times, with the side stories we hear of events that endanger peace in certain places of the world , of course affected some geographical areas where collectors or the hole industry for that matter had to concentrate their thoughts in some topics that required more attention. Nevertheless,\u00a0 there also the people who wants to invest more in art and less in channels with more up-s and downs so I will say the art industry is healthy and strong, is a matter of knowing how to navigate through the waves.\u201d<\/p>\n

V.C.:<\/i><\/b> \u201cHave you seen the new artistic trends in the last year? \u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

J.R.: <\/b>\u201cOh boy, emerging artists are eager to create and leave their mark in the world. I\u2019ve seen so many trends especially in those working with multimedia.\u00a0 New concepts are always amusing and challenging. When you are a pioneer you get to experience both the WOW and OUCH factors!\u00a0 But like everything else in life, perseverance and\u00a0 BELIEVE, is what will make your concept to shine and eventually lead a new movement.\u201d<\/p>\n

V.C.:<\/i><\/b> \u201cOne of your thoughts on the Art Society…\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

J.R.: <\/b>\u201cPersonally I believe there is a big gap between the idea that Art is for everyone\u00a0 (which is true) but the understanding of the art industry belongs to a few.\u00a0 All people that we can consider part of the art society has more than just knowledge about the market. It has taste, vision, passion and knows exactly how the parameters work. Art Society, also has a responsibility to share and promote the industry, to educate at every opportunity that presents in our paths. Being part of the Art Society also give us joy and bring us together as human beings connected for the beauty of all form of expressions. \u201d<\/p>\n

Siamo giunti ad una nuova edizione di Art Monaco, nuovo periodo, dal 27 al 30 ottobre, ma medesima location, Espace Fontvieille, spazio creato e progettato su iniziativa del Principe Ranieri III<\/b> di Monaco.<\/p>\n

Johnessco Rodriguez<\/b> \u00e8 il Presidente della Opus Eventi, organizzatore della rinomata manifestazione artistica Art Monaco<\/b>. In procinto di inaugurare la 7\u00aa edizione del grande evento monegasco, Rodriguez ci ha raccontato la sua visione da imprenditore nell\u2019Arte.<\/p>\n

Vincenzo Chetta:<\/i><\/b> \u201cTorna anche quest\u2019anno Art Monaco, ci sono novit\u00e0?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

Johnessco Rodriguez:<\/b> <\/b>\u201cCaro Vincenzo, ci sono sempre novit\u00e0 con Art Monaco! Quest\u2019anno stiamo mantenendo lo stesso format, uno spettacolo incentrato sull\u2019Arte e, nello stesso tempo, la nostra esclusiva clientela. Come \u00e8 usuale, indipendentemente dal fatto che Art Monaco \u00e8 una piccola esposizone in termini di dimensioni, avremo una presenza internazionale di espositori e collezionisti. Art Monaco sta realizzando il suo scopo: offrire una piattaforma che genera opportunit\u00e0 di business per artisti, gallerie, collezionisti e tutte le persone coinvolte nel settore.<\/p>\n

Siamo felici di continuare ad avere il Principato di Monaco come punto di incontro tra creativit\u00e0 per 5 giorni, e per la prossima edizione del 2017 in realt\u00e0 ci stiamo espandendo per rendere lo spettacolo ancora pi\u00f9 grande e migliore.\u201d<\/p>\n

V.C.:<\/i><\/b> \u201cCome mai hai scelto di cambiare periodo per l\u2019evento?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

J.R.: <\/b>\u201cCome gi\u00e0 sapete, Art Monaco \u00e8 un evento ancora molto giovane, celebriamo solo la 7a edizione. Quindi stiamo ancora cercando il periodo migliore che soddisfi le esigenze ed il calendario di tutti. Non si tratta solo di Monaco, si deve ricordare che abbiamo persone da tutto il mondo e alcuni dei nostri contatti principali hanno sempre l\u2019agenda piena. Non solo, dobbiamo anche guardare il calendario mondiale degli eventi per provare e selezionare le date disponibili. Quando si tratta dei nostri espositori, come organizzatori dobbiamo essere sempre consapevoli delle loro spese aggiuntive, per esempio, quando facevamo la mostra nel mese di aprile, iniziava il bel tempo e a Monaco iniziava la bella stagione: la citt\u00e0 era piena, voli ed hotel avevano tariffe molto alte.\u00a0 Nello stesso tempo, dobbiamo pensare a ci\u00f2 che l\u2019evento pu\u00f2 portare al Principato e se siamo in grado di trovare una data in bassa stagione possiamo effettivamente aiutare entrambe le parti, per esempio i nostri espositori hanno tariffe migliori per il loro soggiorno e il Principato gode di un turismo pi\u00f9 qualificato. Per ora temo si dovranno ancora provare altri due periodi prima di poter stabilire definitivamente la nostra data.\u201d<\/p>\n

V.C.:<\/i><\/b> \u201cTu giri tutto il mondo, il mercato dell\u2019arte nel 2016 \u00e8 vivo e sano?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

J.R.: <\/b>\u201cSto viaggiando tantissimo per motivi diversi, esplorando altri eventi, comprare arte, dato che anche io sono un collezionista e, naturalmente, quando l\u2019occasione si presenta, ho a che fare con pezzi importanti che devono essere spostati da privato a privato. Negli ultimi due anni, pi\u00f9 o meno, a tutti gli eventi avrete sentito la stessa cosa da parte degli espositori, ovvero che purtroppo non si vende: \u201cLo show \u00e8 stato di basso tenore, poca promozione, tante persone, ma nessuna vendita\u2026\u201d etc. La verit\u00e0 \u00e8 che \u00e8 cos\u00ec, siamo passati tutti attraverso momenti difficili, con le\u00a0 brutte vicende che mettono in pericolo la pace in certi luoghi del mondo, ovviamente questo ha colpito alcune aree geografiche in cui i collezionisti\u00a0 hanno dovuto concentrare i loro pensieri su argomenti che hanno richiesto pi\u00f9 attenzione. Tuttavia, ci sono anche le persone che vogliono investire di pi\u00f9 nell\u2019arte e meno in altri canali che hanno troppi alti e bassi. Cos\u00ec posso dire che il settore arte \u00e8 sano e forte, \u00e8 una questione di sapere come navigare attraverso le onde.\u201d<\/p>\n

V.C.:<\/i><\/b> \u201cHai visto nuove tendenze artistiche nell\u2019ultimo anno?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

J.R.: <\/b>\u201cOh ragazzi, artisti emergenti che sono desiderosi di creare e lasciare il loro segno nel mondo. Ho visto tante nuove tendenze specialmente in coloro che lavorano con multimediale, nuovi concetti divertenti e stimolanti. Quando si \u00e8 un \u201cpioniere\u201d si arriva a sperimentare sia il \u201cwow\u201d che l\u2019 \u201couch\u201d, ma, come tutto nella vita, \u00e8 con perseveranza e credo che il loro concetto briller\u00e0 e porter\u00e0 un nuovo movimento artistico.\u201d<\/p>\n

V.C.:<\/i><\/b> \u201cUn tuo pensiero sulla societ\u00e0 dell\u2019Arte\u2026\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

J.R.: <\/b>\u201cPersonalmente credo che ci sia un grande divario tra l\u2019idea che l\u2019arte sia per tutti (il che, \u00e8 vero), e la comprensione del settore dell\u2019arte, che invece appartiene a pochi. Tutte le persone che possiamo considerare parte della societ\u00e0 artistica hanno pi\u00f9 di una semplice conoscenza del mercato. Hanno gusto, visione, passione e sanno esattamente come funzionano i parametri.<\/p>\n

La societ\u00e0 artistica ha anche la responsabilit\u00e0 di condividere e promuovere l\u2019industria, per educare in ogni occasione che si presenta sulle nostre strade. Esserne parte pu\u00f2 anche darci gioia e unisce tante persone con in comune la passione per la bellezza di tutte le forme di espressione.\u201d<\/p>\n
