Una mostra che illustra l&#8217;esistenza artistica finemente sfumata e radicalmente trasgressiva di <strong>EVA &amp; ADELE<\/strong>.<br \/>\nUna retrospettiva dei loro ultimi 25 anni di attivit\u00e0, un&#8217;esposizione che esplora i concetti alla base della coppia artistica, dal 27.04 al 27.08.2018 a Berlino, loro citt\u00e0 natale. Gli artisti, secondo la loro auto-definizione, provengono dal futuro, perch\u00e9 con la loro permanente performance &#8220;a termine&#8221;, vivono un&#8217;esistenza condivisa radicale al fine di incarnare la loro visione per una nuova definizione dei ruoli di genere. La loro idea di <strong>FUTURING<\/strong>, quindi, abolisce ruoli di genere interpretati, sia maschili che femminili. Nello spirito della loro affermazione concettuale &#8220;Oltre i confini del genere&#8221;, <strong>EVA &amp; ADELE<\/strong> esistono simultaneamente &#8220;nell&#8217;arte e nella natura&#8221;. Il loro concetto di <strong>FUTURING<\/strong> mostra sia il loro coraggio che la loro audacia nel trasmettere, con energia e audacia, le loro idee a qualsiasi posto appaia nel mondo.<\/p>\n<p>Una parte importante della mostra si concentra sul loro lavoro internazionale: gli affascinanti costumi WINGS (1992, 1995, 1997) e la video-art WINGS I, II, III (1997, 1998).<br \/>\n<strong>EVA &amp; ADELE<\/strong> raccontano le loro apparizioni in tutto il mondo e la conseguente copertura da parte della stampa e dei media per la serie MEDIAPLASTIC CACTUSBLOSSUM (2018), il cui titolo deriva dal fatto che i fiori di cactus fioriscono solo per un solo giorno. La serie \u00e8 composta da dipinti basati su fotografie della coppia apparse su giornali e riviste. I dipinti della serie Cum si basano anche su fotografie, questa volta inviate alla coppia dai visitatori della mostra e che mostrano anche <strong>EVA &amp; ADELE<\/strong> insieme, soprattutto alle aperture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EVA &amp; ADELE<\/strong> vivono come un&#8217;opera d&#8217;arte in esposizione permanente dove l&#8217;opera \u00e8 la coppia. Vivono la loro esibizione 24 ore al giorno, sette giorni su sette, senza inizio n\u00e9 fine, giorno dopo giorno. Questi lavori sono firmati dal logo di EVA e ADELE: un cuore formato dalle teste di due artisti che si appoggiano l&#8217;una contro l&#8217;altra. I loghi sono dipinti su superfici costituite da collage di opere su carta da cui sono state rimosse le firme con un bisturi. Questi riflettono non solo le ombre, i fantasmi e gli abissi in cui i due esistono; mostrano anche la tenera interazione tra loro. Il video di lavoro Eurotrash (1998) \u00e8 anche un pezzo importante che mostra come <strong>EVA &amp; ADELE<\/strong> sono compresi a livello internazionale. The exhibition explores the concepts underlying the pair\u2019s art and their imagery. To this end, for the first time in <strong>me Collectors Room<\/strong> from 27.04\u201327.08.2018 in Berlin, a comprehensive selection from their most important groups of works across media including drawing, painting, photography, video, and sculpture, as well as their self-made costumes and costume logbooks, will go on show. Together, these illustrate the finely nuanced and radically transgressive artistic existence of EVA &amp; ADELE. Part of the concept are also some objects they have crafted for the exhibition, such as a perfume from Grasse, France, a signed wristwatch by Swatch and handbags by PB 0110, a label by Philipp Bree.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #808080;\"> In order to question perspectives, concepts, and relationships that are often taken for granted, <strong>EVA &amp; ADELE<\/strong> have been living together since 1991, creating a common conceptual artwork: when they appear in the international art world, it is always together, dressed the same, always smiling. The artists, according to their own self-definition, come from the future, because with their permanent \u2018futuring\u2019 performance, they live a radical shared existence in order to embody their vision for a new definition of gender roles. Their idea of FUTURING, therefore, abolishes played-out gender roles, both male and female. In the spirit of their conceptual claim \u2018Over the Boundaries of Gender\u2019, <strong>EVA &amp; ADELE<\/strong> exist simultaneously \u2018in art and in nature\u2019. Their concept of FUTURING shows both their courage and their audacity in transmitting, with energy and daring, their ideas to wherever they appear in the world.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #808080;\"> A major section of the exhibition, therefore, focuses on their international work: the glamorous WINGS Costumes (1992, 1995, 1997) and the video works that are based on<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #808080;\"> them, WINGS I, II, III (1997, 1998), are staged as an installation. For the very first time, all of the associated array of costume logbooks is exhibited, consisting 162 sheets. Within this collection EVA &amp; ADELE have for decades meticulously envisaged and recorded each outfit, with its matching pair of stockings and shoes, handbags, umbrellas, etc.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #808080;\"> With their tongues often firmly in cheek, they tell of their worldwide appearances and the resulting press and media coverage in the ongoing series MEDIAPLASTIC<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #808080;\"> CACTUSBLOSSUM (2018) \u2013 whose title is derived from the fact that cactus blossoms only bloom for a single day. The series consists of paintings based on photographs of the pair that have appeared in newspapers and magazines. Within it, they live their performance 24 hours a day, seven days a week, without beginning or end, day in and day out. For example, their video work Kisses in the Supermarket, dated 1997, humorously explores the idea that even while buying groceries in a New York City supermarket they are living their daily lives as a performance, continually proclaiming: \u2018Wherever we are is museum\u2019.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #808080;\"> Deeply personal works are on view from the intimate thematic group Eros &amp; Death that conjure the chimera of the erotic, for example the floral drawings ADSILA (2014) or 45 works on paper featuring skull symbolism from the suite of works SAVOUDRIJA, created in 2005.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #808080;\"> Also exhibited are biographical sculptures, including a bed and bodice from their personal effects, as well as pieces from the group of works titled Transformer-Performer. These works are composed of EVA &amp; ADELE\u2019s logo: a heart made up of the two artists\u2019 heads leaning against one another. The logos are painted on surfaces made up of collages of works on paper from which the signatures have been removed with a scalpel. These reflect not only the shadows, ghosts, and abysses in which the two exist; they also show the tender interplay between them. The video work Eurotrash (1998) is also an important piece that shows how <strong>EVA &amp; ADELE<\/strong> are understood internationally.
